Here are some great books that I would consider foundational to my own understanding of product innovation. Along with The Lean Startup,Inspired
, and The Four Steps to the Epiphany
; I think the basics are here for a keen understanding of how to harness the principles of innovation in technology and business.
The Innovator’s Dilemma explores strategies for harnessing iterative vs. disruptive innovations. This book is a must have for understanding why big companies can miss trans-formative change and what to do about it.
Crossing the Chasm explores how to move from new product to market adoption. It helped me clarify how markets go from early adopters to the early majority by securing beachheads in strategic locations.
Experimentation Matters offers tools for rapid prototyping and thinking in a testing mentality. This book again is a bit old, but it really solidified the role of iterating efforts to find the right solution.
Enjoy.
